While dicussing the economy hardly ever brings about any optimism these days, the San Fernando Valley Economic Summit on May 8 seemed to have a twinge of unexpected
positivity.
While most of the event held at the Sheraton Universal in Universal City focused on how the economy is in a bad way, a report discussed by Daniel Blake, Ph.D and director of the San Fernando Valley Economic Research Center at CSUN, found that nearly 40 percent of the 125 Valley businesses surveyed expect to increase their Valley jobs in the next year. Roughly the same amount said they planned on expanding their facilities this year.
